Emergency Heating & Cooling Repair Across Long Island

HVAC emergencies do not follow business hours. Your furnace fails on the coldest night of the year. Your air conditioner dies during a July heat wave with temperatures hitting 98 degrees. You smell gas near your heating equipment. Your carbon monoxide detector goes off. These situations demand an immediate, professional response.

Island Comfort HVAC operates a 24/7 emergency dispatch line staffed by real people, not an answering service. When you call our emergency number, you speak with a dispatcher who collects your information, assesses the urgency, and sends a technician to your home. For no-heat emergencies in winter, our goal is to have a technician at your door within 2 hours.

24/7 Emergency HVAC Service project on Long Island
HVAC equipment and installation

Our emergency service covers all HVAC equipment: furnaces, boilers, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini splits, and water heaters. Our technicians carry the most commonly needed repair parts on their trucks, including ignitors, flame sensors, capacitors, contactors, fan motors, hard-start kits, and thermostat components. Many emergency repairs are completed the same night.

We handle the full range of HVAC emergencies that Long Island homeowners face. No-heat situations including furnace ignition failures, gas valve malfunctions, thermostat failures, and power issues. No-cool situations including compressor failures, refrigerant leaks, frozen coils, and fan motor failures. Safety emergencies including gas leaks, carbon monoxide detection, cracked heat exchangers, and electrical burning smells.

Our emergency pricing is transparent. You will know the cost before we begin any repair. We charge a dispatch premium for after-hours calls (evenings, weekends, and holidays), but the actual repair pricing is the same as during normal business hours. There are no hidden fees, no inflated emergency part prices, and no pressure to make a decision on the spot.

Safety emergencies receive the highest priority. If you smell gas, leave your home, call 911 first, then call us. If your carbon monoxide detector is alarming, evacuate and call 911. We will meet the fire department at your home and diagnose the source of the issue once the immediate danger has been addressed.

Emergency HVAC Pricing

Call for pricing

Emergency HVAC service pricing includes a dispatch fee for after-hours calls plus the standard repair pricing. The dispatch fee covers the technician’s trip to your home outside of normal business hours (before 7 AM, after 7 PM, weekends, and holidays).

Actual repair costs are the same as during business hours. A capacitor replacement costs the same at midnight as it does at noon. We provide the total price before starting any work so there are no surprises.

If the emergency requires a major component that is not on our truck, we will stabilize the situation when possible and schedule the repair for the next business day at standard rates.

What Long Island Homeowners Say

James came out the same day we called. Diagnosed the issue in 20 minutes, had our AC back running within the hour. His crew installed our whole system four years ago and it has been flawless. Cannot recommend enough.

Karen T.Massapequa

We got four quotes for central air. Island Comfort was the only company that showed up on time, explained every option without pressure, and gave us a written quote the same visit. System runs perfectly. Fair price.

Mike & Jessica R.Hicksville

Our furnace died on the coldest night in January. James had a tech at our house by 9 PM and we had heat back by midnight. They did not gouge us on the emergency call either. Ended up replacing the whole furnace the following week. Professional start to finish.

FAQ

Common Emergency HVAC Questions

What qualifies as an HVAC emergency?

No-heat situations when temperatures are below freezing, no-cooling when temperatures exceed 90 degrees with vulnerable household members, gas odors near HVAC equipment, carbon monoxide detector alarms, burning smells from HVAC equipment, and water leaks from HVAC systems that threaten property damage.

How fast can you respond to an emergency?

Our goal is a technician at your door within 2 hours for priority emergencies. Actual response time depends on location, time of day, and technician availability. We provide an estimated arrival time when you call.

Is emergency service more expensive?

We charge an after-hours dispatch fee, but the actual repair pricing is identical to business-hours rates. There are no inflated emergency part prices. You will know the total cost before we start.

I smell gas near my furnace. What should I do?

Leave your home immediately. Do not use any electrical switches or phones inside the home. Once outside, call 911 and then call National Grid at 1-800-490-0045. After the gas company confirms safety, call us to diagnose and repair the source of the leak.

Can you fix any brand during an emergency call?

Yes. Our emergency technicians are trained on all residential HVAC brands and carry parts for the most common systems. For rare or discontinued brands, we may need to source a specific part, but we will stabilize your system in the meantime.
